    Overview

    The Wits Law Clinic, which is a part of the University of the Witwatersrand School of Law, invites applications for appointment as a supervising clinician at the level of lecturer. This appointment will be made in the labour law unit of the Wits Law Clinic.
           
    Brief Description       

    The Law Clinic seeks a candidate who is a practising attorney or advocate with a sound working knowledge of substantive and procedural labour law, and an appreciable competence in the practice of labour law in the Labour Court and the CCMA. The candidate must also be a dynamic teacher and active researcher.
     
    General duties and responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be a supervising clinician in the labour law unit within the Law Clinic. They will be required to:

    • Teach, supervise and mentor law students in the area of clinical legal education.
    • Provide legal advice and/or legal assistance (both litigious and non-litigious) in the area of labour law to indigent members of the public.
    • Supervise candidate attorneys allocated to the labour law unit.
    • Teach in the School of Law.

     

    • Produce research output.
