Manager: IT Auditor at Road Accident Fund

Job description

Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Senior Manager: Internal Audit, the successful incumbent’s responsibility will be to provide ongoing guidance and direction to staff to achieve the objective of the department including compliance to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Key Performance Areas

• Identify appropriate audit methodologies that are available especially the use of technology.
• Assist in the development of training and development programs for ensuring quality audit resources.
• Develop performance management and evaluation systems for subordinates.
• Assist the CAE in preparing risk based IT audit plans.
• Identify issues relevant to the specific audit plan.
• Formulate audit program based on the outcome of the preliminary survey using appropriate audit methodologies and technologies.
• Manage the audit process.
• Compile reports on the outcome of the audit process.
• Provide advisory and assurance on the IT Steering Committee.
• Provide advisory to ICT management on new policies and procedures and also participate on the development of controls for new applications.
• Assist management in identification of risks and making recommendations in mitigating of such risks.
• Generate monthly and quarterly statistics reports on business operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Commerce or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6/7
• CISA is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years IT auditing experience at managerial or supervisory level.
• Experience in Audit methodologies and Audit Software Applications.
• Experience in doing SAP audits, e.g. basis.
• CGEIT, CRISC or CISM or other IT audit or governance certification will be an added advantage.
• Experience in auditing software applications, operating systems, databases and networks.
• Report Writing and Presentation skills.
• Experience using Teammate to document audit work.

• International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
• Principles relating to Governance, Risk Management and control frameworks.
• King IV application.
• IT Audit frameworks (for e.g. COBIT, ITIL, ISO2700 etc).
