    Product Lead

    Job description

    Our company,  based in Sandton, is looking for an experienced and ethusiastic Product Lead to serve the end-user, customer or stakeholders of the product, by ensuring the accomplishment of the final product and its vision.

    The Product Lead will develop and maintain the vision for the product and is responsible for communicating the vision to the development team and ensuring that the roadmap and delivery is aligned to the vision.

    Responsibilities, Activities and Key Deliverables

    • Possess the full vision of product, all customer feedback, market research and other stakeholder’s feedback.
    • Provide vision and direction to the development team and stakeholders throughout the project.
    • Develop Scope documents and define Epics/User stories that guides the development team.
    • Serve as the voice of the client and report ROI, risk analysis and product effectiveness.
    • Solve problems, make decisions and complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
    • Demo product functionality for customers and Senior leadership.
    • Draft key objectives, strategies and apply the data for a product to make business decisions.
    • Possess a fundamental understanding of end to end customer experience integration and dependencies.
    • Accountable for a created product, delivering in the product model and communicating the product needs with business partners.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
    • Assess value, develop and prioritise stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value aligned with the product strategy.
    • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
    • Work with Project Manager and Technical Leads to determine scope, roadmap and priorities for product development cycles.
    • Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to the product.
    • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for product features so that they are clearly understood by the development teams.
    • Manage the licensing schedule and renewals.
    • Ensure that the budget is up-to-date, relevant and reflective of the current market. Update annually.
    • Ensure invoicing is done appropriately with regards to both JVs and partners.
    • Ensure clients are being invoiced correctly and licenses renewed timeously.
    • Manage and control costs of partnerships.
    • Maintain, renew, refresh and where appropriate, develop, marking collateral to support the sale of the product. This includes but is not limited to PowerPoint, brochures, videos, demonstrate website (and supporting notes), case studies and quotes and references.
    • Develop sales material for inclusion in pitch packs.
    • Provide support to commercial directors during sales process i.e. addressing queries regarding product functionality.
    • Ensure that the product specific training material is updated.
    • Train the implementation teams, super users and partners on the use of the product.
    • Capture and prioritise critical development for the product i.e. bugs.
    • Capture and prioritise enhancements of the system.
    • Manage the translation and testing of the product for multiple languages.
    • Identify a product contact / sponsor on site to act as a super user.
    • Ensure that the technical solution is in place i.e. determine if cloud or local hosted solution, connect client technical people with Cyest people, ensure that Cyest delivers on the technical solution.
    • Support initial implementation of product.
    • Ensure that team is ready to use the system i.e. conduct training as required, ensure understanding of all references and training material.
    • Facilitate the handover when implementation is complete and the team leaves the client site.
    • Check in with client regularly to ensure product is working as require
    • Conduct product satisfaction surveys.
    • Ensure testing is performed as per stipulated process and results are satisfactory. Ensure release notes are appropriately done and manage the communication of new releases including user feedback on new features, stability and download availability.

    Job Specific Qualifications and Experience

    • 4 year(s) experience working as a Product Lead in a technology environment
    • Understanding of technology; Language and Applications; UI, QA is an additional bonus
    • Proven ability to define a set of requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify technical and business changes required to address them
    • Excellent Industry and/or application domain knowledge and ability to understand the big picture
    • Exposure to marketing and sales
    • Experienced in customer interactions
    • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
    • Negotiation skills with ability to compromise and balance trade-offs among multiple interests
    • Proven leadership and decision making
    • Professional presentation skills
    • Familiar with Agile and Scrum principles and practices
