    Vice President, Business Development

    Job description

    Overview

    • Grows revenue by identifying and pursuing opportunities with new or existing customers/markets
    • Focuses on growing market share, market acceptance, the number of customer touch points, and MasterCard’s regional footprint
    • Sets sales strategy aligned with geography and segment strategy
    • Responsible for pipeline management at the segment level

    Responsibilities

    • Drives new business development by sourcing new relationships in assigned country/region by way adherence to stringent Sales Management disciplines.
    • Plans and identifies country/region specific sales, net revenue, and acceptance targets
    • Apply a rigorous and comprehensive approach to Key Accounts to ensure consistency across markets
    • Initiates conversations & works collaboratively with key decision makers across Geographies for existing, new or emerging product opportunities
    • Develops sales strategies, including priority customers and segments
    • Develops and presents financial modeling and business cases for development opportunities
    • Negotiates, executes and manages the customer contract agreement process
    • Evaluates and enhances the deal process to deliver efficiencies and improved success rates
    • Establishes a plan to identify and grow strategic business development relationships
    • Establishes, enhances, and maintains relationships with government, regulatory, and industry bodies
    • Formally supervises and coaches several groups/teams, or other Leaders/ Consultants and influences how the function is structured
    • Ensures the function's compliance to goal setting and performance appraisal process
    • Helps identify, coach and groom top talent and pro-actively develops employees as organizational resources

    Experiences

    • Extensive Payments experience & expertise with business development strategy and execution in complex and international countries/regions. Southern Africa experience is an advantage.
    • Strategic mindset
    • Extensive track record achieving business development targets and building business relationships through customer sales
    • Strong People Leadership: Experience supervising, developing and coaching business development teams to serve complex countries/regions
    • Demonstrated success in introducing existing and new/emerging solutions into various MasterCard countries/regions and driving increased penetration with clients
