Job description
To take full responsibility of a geographical area and manage a team of interviewers in a professional and financially viable manner with the main goal of achieving quality and deadline standards.

KEY OUTCOMES
- Allocate questionnaires (Q) to field workers according to skills level
- Brief and place Questionnaire into field and conduct role play
- Allocate the field workers that will do a trip, get the questionnaires back and do the debriefing etc
- Submit Questionnaires to before the due date (ensure timing and quotas are respected)
- Check the administrative management of the interviewers and supervisors (contracts, elements of pay)
- Responsible for the signing of addendums and travel annexure per project
- Ensure that no field worker on the NLU list is being used
- Together with the Research Field Manager, responsible for recruiting, interviewing, contracting and formal training of field workers
- Responsible for the informal training of field workers i.e. role play, in field visits, training during brief and debrief
- Combine non-metro trips in region economically and ensure money feedback is timeously
- Support strategies for building team effectiveness
- Support an environment of work excellence by ensuring own performance is consistently optimal
- Advisor for team and other internal services
- Constructively bring attention to issues of poor performance within team and suggest possible solutions
- Request technical support / back up / by team members
- Seeks to build inter-departmental relationships productively
- Interact effectively with varying levels with different backgrounds and perspectives
CAPABILITIES
- Completed Matric
- Minimum of 5 years administrative and people management experience, of which 2 years proven management experience, ideally in a research environment
- Fluent in English and preferable a second language
- Working knowledge of the research process with field experience will be an advantage
- Computer literate and working knowledge on Word, Excel and Outlook
- Driver’s license and own transport
- Experience in HR related principles and labour relations will be an advantage
- Must be willing to work weekends and after hours
