    Business Development Manager

    Job description

    Do you have vast experience with improving an organization’s market position and achieving financial growth? Does your strength lie in strategic planning and developing the pipeline of new business? We are seeking Business Development Managers for our Johannesburg head office. Leads Machine is a Digital Marketing Agency which provides a broad range of digital marketing tools and solutions for South Africa’s small to medium enterprises. We are part of Trudon – the publishers of the yellow pages.

    Role purpose

    The Business Development Managers will report to the Business Development Director and will work to improve the organization’s market position and achieve both portfolio and financial growth. The successful candidates will be responsible for implementing the long-term strategic growth goals, working with the broader team to build key systems and processes that support the growth (scale management and development), building customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and competitor activities.
    Key responsibilities

    • Oversee the development of effective value propositions for the agencies service offerings.
    • Implement business initiatives to ensure attainment of the business plan for growth.
    • Prospect for potential new clients and ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities for the agency’s offerings.
    • Research and build relationships with new partners in new sectors.
    • Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-term plans and budgets based upon broad organizational goals and objectives.
    • Research geographic market demographics to identify high potential geographic opportunities.
    • Position the agency as a pioneering brand both in the SME Digital market and also in the larger South African discourse.
    • Identify and partner with 3rd party brands that will work to extend the reach of our service offerings.

    Requirements

    • Matric
    • Degree in business management/ Marketing
    • 5-7 years of professional experience that operates at scale or at a rapid-growth, rapid- scale business in a service, retail or similar sector.
    • Results-proven track record of speaking to client needs, closing sales and building lasting business relationships on the basis of fulfillment.
    • Results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment; the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget; problem-solving, project management, and creative resourcefulness.
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of both the local and global digital marketing landscapes.
    • Live and breathe the progressive culture and vision of promoting and excellence in the workplace.
