Job Description

The Master Proofreader is a vacancy within our exciting creative agency. The ideal person will be responsible and dedicated to the task of fine-tuning and refining all content produced by the agency to support key marketing communication efforts. Have an eye for detail and passion for consistency? Then you’re the person to help us effectively communicate the brand experience across multiple platforms.

Required Qualifications:

• Bilingual proficiency both in Afrikaans and English
• Bachelor’ s Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of proofreading/copy editing/Translations experience in a marketing, advertising or related business
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and focus intently, providing exceptional attention to detail

Duties & Responsibilities

• Exhibit equal bilingual proficiency both in Afrikaans and English with the knowledge and skills essential to this role (comprehension as well as writing and translation from English) and keeping current on evolving grammar, usage and spelling.
• Complete projects from the Proofreader job queue, review wide range of communication materials and make relevant comments/notes/corrections in a timely manner.
• By paying close attention to detail, ensure all creative work adheres to our high quality standards are uncontrived and relevant to the brand.
• Focus is on Proofreading but translation duties are also required.

Working Conditions:

• Professional, open-plan office environment.
• Must liaise constantly throughout the day with clients and internal departments
• Must be able to work outside of regular business hours, if and when required.
