    Sustainability Facilitator

    Job description

    Overview

    We are looking to recruit a permanent Sustainability / Business Continuity Facilitator to work within the Group Service & Facilities department of the Clicks Group. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Head of Group Services & Facilities.

    Purpose and Objectives

    Job Purpose:

    To Facilitate and administer the operational implementation of the Sustainability / Business Continuity management and Environmental Sustainability for the Group.

    Job Objectives:

    • Sustainabililty
    • Reporting and communicating the sustainability strategy and framework appropriately internally and externally
    • Writing and publishing of the group online sustainability report annually aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative
    • Gather all relevant data and ensure accuracy and completeness for the Social and Ethics committee board pack
    • Co-ordinate group involvement in external sustainability forums
    • Completion of surveys –JSE FTSE Russell, CDP, etc.
    • Identify opportunities to drive sustainability and to activate the plans in the Business units
    • Compile input into the group board report on a quarterly basis on progress made through the year
    • Ensure internal collaboration between internal business units and Sustainability
    • Monitor and track sustainability indicators on a monthly basis to disclose at year end in the group Sustainability report and Integrated report
    • Continuous research and feedback to board members, business unit heads and executive committees on new developments within the sustainability industry
    • Business Continuity Management
    • To develop, direct, implement, maintain, manage and increase the maturity of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) programme in the group
    • Develop, implement and maintain the BCM programme addressing emergency response management aligned with the group health and safety, incident management, business continuity and business recovery to comply with internal audits and achieve continuous improvement
    • Drive the business units to update content of the Business Continuity Coordinators (BCPs) to include core operational functions including the Business Impact Analysis to allow for business continuation on a quarterly basis
    • Develop and update the BCM policies, procedures and standards to ensure the company is aligned and compliant
    • Report progress and findings to the Audit and Risk committee quarterly
    • Develop, produce and update BCP materials and documentation (contact lists, test results, battle box contents, recovery box contents, etc.)
    • Environmental Sustainability
    • Oversee Environmental footprint management of the group
    • Measure the group carbon footprint on a monthly basis and achieve external verification annually
    • Report on environmental disasters of the UN Global Compact in the Social and Ethics committee
    • Develop and ensure environmental risks are included in the group risk register
    • Develop, update and implement the group Environmental and Climate Change policies
    • Design, develop and entrench environmental awareness in the business
    • Chair the group environmental committee

    Requirements
    Qualifications and Experience:

    • 3 years Organisational sustainability experience
    • 2 years Data analysis interpretation and dissemination experience
    • 2 years Networking experience
    • Bachelors degree (essential) in Business or Environmental studies (preferable)
