Job description

Reporting to the Production Foreman you will be responsible for the following:

Work through his/her subordinates to achieve departmental goals and objectives by effectively utilizing all available resources.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Lead a small team, execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling and continuous improvement.
• Support Quality, to ensure that the product meets the customers’ expectations.
• Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, to minimize inventory and to reduce costs.
• Identify the cause of deviation and implement a course of action to resolve problem.
• Set and measure performance standards of quality, outputs, time, cost, waste and safety etc.
• Determine and discuss all departmental targets with the Foreman.
• Build and maintain productive employee relationships.
• Identify critical projects to improve operational performance and elevate these to the Foreman.
• Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair and maintenance.
• Co-ordinate all production activities to the best of his/her ability and in the interest of the business
• Make decisions regarding the production flow
• Ensure that all HACCP and GMP and Fast Pace Operations (FPO) principles are enforced and maintained;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Matric (or similar qualification) / Supervisory experience
• Proven / knowledge of GMP, HACCP AND FPO processes
• Proficient in Excel, Word
• Working knowledge of Industrial Relations Practices

• Writing reports in English
• Physical fit: lifting of products; standing at production lines; working in an environment with
• chemical fumes resulting from the production process (with the correct safety equipment); healthy
• Running production with fast moving machinery
• Mechanically and technically capable to identify and esolve production problems
• Willingness to work overtime and shifts
• Not using controlled / illegal substances (including cannabis, tik and the like)
