    Account Manager

    Job Description    

    • Actively market and sell the Speciality Ingredients to current and new customers in South Africa
    • Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
    • Grow customer base and increase market share in Specialty Ingredients
    • Grow customer base year on year in terms of volume, revenue, and margins through technical sales and application
    • Multi-level relationships and price negotiations at customers
    • Negotiate sales contracts with customers
    • Management of customer pricing margins
    • Assist in management of working capital within company targets
    • Assist in driving working platform pipeline and key projects across the business
    • Prepare annual sales budget, monthly forecast, and monthly sales reports
    • Provides timely reports and information as required by management
    • Ensure the visit reports and customer details are entered and updated into the CRM system or similar
    • Meeting deadlines across the business
    • New business development together with Business Manager and Business Development Manager
    • Technical presentations at customers & ensuring appropriate joint calls
    • Understand and be able to react to changes within the food & beverage industry
    • Work with all support functions (business coordinators, internal sales, finance, technical) to ensure smooth operation of the business
    • Maintenance of all Zero Harm principles across areas of responsibility

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • BSC / NDip Food Science / Food Technology Qualification (or relevant to Food & Beverage)
    • Minimum 6-10 years’ sales experience in the food and beverage industry
    • Proven sales track record
    • Computer literacy : advanced in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
    • Good communication skills
    • Good Report writing skills
    • Technical skills
    • Negotiation skills
    • Analytical Skills
    • Financial modelling skills
    • Syspro or SAP experience would be an advantage.

    Competencies    

    • Business aptitude with strong value-based selling techniques and Commercial awareness
    • Self-managed and demonstrate initiative.
