Accountant (Re advertised) - Edenvale at Barron

Job purpose

• The purpose of an Accountant is to be responsible for recording, reviewing and reconciling financial transactions of the organisation through performing a wide range of duties including bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and financial reporting

Job Objectives
Bad debts

• Responsible for writing off bad debts and posting the write-off to the relevant journal

Accounts payable review and release

• Responsible for reviewing credit reconciliations, assisting in resolving reconciling item
• Responsible to do the first release and post payment to relevant journal

Cash Management

• Review bank reconciliation, and complete bank balance for cashflow purposes

Payroll Reconciliations

• Responsible for reconciling and reviewing payroll reports and posting it to the relevant journal
• Responsible for recalculating leave provisions and capturing the leave journal
• Responsible for first release in the payment of employee tax and employee benefits

Provision and Accrual

• Responsible for raising accruals and calculate provision based on analysis done on expected expense

Tax

• Responsible for being compliant with SARS (Income Tax,VAT and Employee tax), ensure that reconciliation , submission and payment is done as required by SARS

Fixed Asset

• Responsible for maintaining the Fixed asset Register, Calculate the depreciation

General Ledger

• Perform month end balance sheet reconciliation

Ad Hoc

• Responsible to testing system upgrades

Job requirements
Qualifications and experience

• NQF 7 Degree or advanced diploma in Accounting
• 2-3 Years' Accountant
