Accounting Specialist - Midrand at BMW Group South Africa

Purpose & Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for all treasury, forex revaluation reserves, intercompany. 
• Responsible for the compilation and preparation of exception reporting using data tools to monitor process adherence in the following area corporate accounting.
• Reporting of financial information to external parties. (Stats SA, NAAMSA, SARB,NCR).
• Forecasting relating to treasury, cashflow forecasting.
• Preparation of treasury committee material for the treasury meetings monthly. 
• Balance sheet month end submission. 
• Management of students on accounting aspects delegated. 
• Review of reconciliations prepared by students, training of students. 
• Preparation of small company statutory financials statements. 
• Responsible for ICS control documentation. 
• Training the business on SARB (South African Reserve Bank) compliance. 
• Preparing and ensuring timely submission and facilitating of any special SARB pre approval’s for foreign outgoing payments not covered in terms of the imports undertaking. 
• Annual SARB compliance reporting.
• Facilitation of annual return compilation and completion for all BMW Statutory entities.
• Audit query management relating to treasury and balance sheet reporting (external and internal).
• Monthly accounting i.ro balance sheet items
• Monthly reconciliation i.e. of various balance sheet items
• Reconciliation of treasury accounts.
• Clearing of treasury accounts 
• Guide the business on any new accounting standards
• Bank statement & account upload for all BMW Bank accounts i.e. NSC, Plant, and Corporate. 
• Inter-company reconciliation, confirmation and request for invoicing.
• Treasury Management System (Wall Street) monthly process.
• Banking relationship administration (Queries, system admin)
• Ad hoc projects, analyses and reporting.
• Banking and other master data maintenance, regular review of limits and other items to ensure compliance and a strong environment. 
• Derive data analytics through exception reporting relevant to the F-4 area using data tools.
• Monitoring and reporting of exceptions to identify process non adherence issues in the business for the F-4 area
• Roll out of any new requirements from group w.r.t to new accounting standards. 
• Coordination & facilitating approval of responses for internal audit queries relating to F-4.
• SARB reporting
• Forecasting relating to treasury and corporate accounting topics.

     
Other

• Support on ad-hoc requests from Finance Director.
• Maintenance of standardized work instructions and process documentation for area of responsibility.
• Improvement of financial reporting processes and IT systems within the function.
• Internal Control Systems, responsible for the control environment in area of responsibility
• Stand-in for certain Corporate Accountant role        

Qualifications

• CA (SA)

Working Experience

• Articles + 1 years post articles preferred

Computer Literacy

• SAP knowledge preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) Skills.

• Accounting, tax knowledge needed.
• Process knowledge.
• Pls indicate any requirements of special knowledge/technical skills, etc.
• Accounting (IFRS).
