    Area Retail Sales Manager

    Job Requirements

    • Cape Cookies’ shelf health expectations are met through regular visits to all stores to conduct field and classroom training of sales partners during regular visits to all stores
    • Product mix is continually updated (Customer/ Store dependent) through use of Spar Insights / PnP Online & Shoprite B2B to ensure ranging is as per cluster ranging
    • Cluster listings are monitored and maintained to ensure any system errors are rectified at store or reported to NKAM
    • Correct volumes of product are held on shelves or in stock at store level, for sales or promotions –through agent training
    • Orders are continually updated with Buyers through training of agents
    • Upliftments and returns are effectively and procedurally managed
    • Merchandising team is effectively managed and upskilled to ensure products are appropriately displayed
    • Regional/national footprint in area of responsibility is grown to achieve quarterly targets

    Minimum qualifications & experience required for the position:

    • Matric – NQF4 Numeracy & Literacy (English + one other language, plus minimum of Maths Literacy at Matric level)
    • Post-matric certificate or diploma in Sales and/or Marketing field
    • Previous experience in a Retail environment, associated with obtaining or increasing product sales and display
    • Computer Literacy – must have working knowledge of Excel to intermediate level (create & use formulae, charts & graphs); Outlook; MS Word, and basic PowerPoint
    • Own reliable vehicle and unendorsed drivers licence

    Skill requirements:

    Demonstrated ability to

    • Attain targets per channel via guiding agents as well as the ability to build regional sales plans to exceed targets
    • Use data to develop insights that lead to actions that grow sales - analyse and interpret data
    • Understand pressure
    • Communicate at acceptable business levels – both verbally and in writing ((clear, respectful, honest, assertive and persuasive) – preferably in two official languages
    • Determine how to fetch the business
    • Determine where to fetch the business
    • Determine how to move / pull the stock through
    • Conceptualise and strategise
    • Perform administrative skills necessary to produce required activity reports on weekly or monthly basis
    • Plan, co-ordinate, organise and control their own performance – strong self-management skills and ability to work independently
    • Ability to manage third-party sales agents
