    Armed Guard Officer - Grade C

    Job Context    

    • Servest Security is seeking Armed Guard Officers with Grade C.  The role of an Armed Guard Officer is to protect people, property, and assets by maintaining a visible security presence and responding to security threats or emergencies. Their duties typically include: The position is based in Secunda.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Valid PSIRA Grade C Certificate
    • Grade 10 /11 report with minimum of 5 years’ experience
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security industry.
    • Experience as an Armed Guard/Armed Response Officer
    • Proven exposure to high-risk environments (mining, industrial)
    • Firearm Competency Certificates for all three categories (including business purpose):
    • Medical fitness certificate
    • No criminal record (SAPS fingerprint clearance)
    • Valid driver’s licence (Code 8/B or higher – depending on site)
    • Must reside in Secunda

    Skills & Competencies

    • Excellent firearm handling and safety knowledge
    • Observation and reporting skills
    • Communication proficiency (radio & verbal)
    • Knowledge of access control, patrol procedures.
    • Basic computer literacy for report writing (advantageous)

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Conducting regular patrols of the premises.
    • Monitoring access control and searching suspicious persons or vehicles.
    • Preventing theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
    • Responding to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
    • Carrying and handling firearms in accordance with legal and company procedures.
    • Writing incident and occurrence reports.
    • Ensuring compliance with security policies and safety procedures.
    • Assisting employees, visitors, and clients when required.
    • Liaising with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
    • Supervising security risks and maintaining order on site.
