BASIC SALARY R 373 577.88 – R 502 420.80 per annum

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12;
• N3 in Electrical Engineering;
• Trade Test;
• Valid Driver’s Licence;
• 2 years relevant experience.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Monitors and controls activities by maintaining a log of work, production, or maintenance;
• Able to prioritise tasks;
• Identifies more critical and less critical activities and tasks; adjusts priorities when appropriate; and able to prioritize resources to meet competing deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• High tension cables maintenance: digging to find the faulty cables &assist the electrician in identifying and cutting the faulty cables;
• Maintenance of high-tension overhead line;
• Maintenance of low-tension cable: witness the isolation and testing of live cable to ensure they are off and assist the electricians in identifying and cutting the faulty cable;
• Servicing transformers: drain old oil from the transformer, flush the transformer tank and put in new oil, preparing relevant tools for the task and assist the electrician in executing the task at hand.
