Proficiency in English and at least one of the other official languages of the Western Cape Province
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Perform High Voltage switching on the electrical system as per ORHVS
Co-ordinate activities/ sequences associated with trouble shooting/ fault finding and repairing to medium/ low voltage reticulation and electrical systems
Perform activities and sequences associated with maintaining the functionality of medium/ low voltage electrical reticulation system
Maintaining, constructing, installing and commissioning of the electrical network of Knysna municipal area, which include: - 11 kV and 22kV overhead lines, underground cables, switchgear, Mini-Substations, Ring Main
Units (RMU), Transformers 400V/ 230V distribution Kiosks, and allied work as well as 11kV and 22kV cable joint using heat shrink
Maintaining streetlights and high mast lights
Maintaining traffic lights
Installation of new domestic service connections and pre-paid meter installations and conversations
Undertake inspections of electrical installations and report on findings in respect of guidelines provided
Responsible for on-site Occupational Health and Safety and Supervision of staff
Attend to customer electrical faults/ complaints
Perform overtime and standby duties on a roster basis
Perform specific tasks associated with the operation of heavy and/ or specialised vehicles and equipment
(Crane Trucks, etc.) during electrical installation, repair and maintenance activities
Adhering to all safety and health practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
