Assistant Director: Technical Support _ MN3582/25 at Midvaal Local Municipality

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12. Relevant B Degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification in Civil Engineering. Professional registration with ECSA will be an added advantage.  Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.  
• Meet minimum MFMA requirements or qualify for dispensation. Valid driver’s License.  Computer Literacy MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Projects.  Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.  
• Proven Management skills.  Project and Financial management skills.  Attention to detail.  Competent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies.  Proven knowledge of Local Government Supply Chain Regulations.  
• Knowledge and understanding of OHSACT Guidelines and Principles. Knowledge of water supply operations and maintenance experience and specific knowledge of compliance regulations e.g. Blue Drop, Green Drop, No Drop, etc.  Five (5) years’ experience in Technical Support or Civil Engineering, of which 3 years should have been in supervisory/managerial position.

DUTIES

• Responsible for the effective implementation of water demand management plan. Provide effective operational support to all departmental sections. Provide innovative strategies to water demand and water conversation management. Effective implementation of the following annual regulatory assessments: Blue Drop, Green Drop, No Drop, RPMS. Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements, i.e. Blue Drop, Green Drop, No Drop, et.
• Responsible for effective operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment works and compliance thereof. Provide effective support on the operation and maintenance of water supply infrastructure. Provide effective support on the operation and maintenance of sanitation infrastructure. Investigation, monitoring and reduction of water losses. Personnel and Performance Management. Financial and supply chain management and control.
• Providing effective and efficient administration for the department. Provide effective record management system. Relationship Management and Communication. Assist with the planning of water and sanitation infrastructure. Liaison with consulting engineers and contractors.
• Develop and implement effective customer care management system and monitor effectiveness. Maintaining Service Delivery standards. Implementation of projects and programmes as well as monitoring, control and inspection. Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management from time to time.
