    Millwright: Water Section _ MN3855/25

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12.  National Diploma specific to Millwright vocational training or a recognized trade test in Millwright. Driver’s License (PDP added advantage).  Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint).  An honest, hardworking, and selfdisciplined person.

    • Installation and maintaining all water and sewer pumps, motors, electrical panels, and motor control centres, wastewater treatment plan aerators and stirrers and diesel generators within the jurisdiction area of the council supplied localities:  By checking, fault finding and root cause analysis and performing preventative maintenance on equipment.  Cleaning, repairing parts of panels, pumps and motors as well as structure of pump stations and related work areas to ensure good maintenance and operation of the abovementioned structures.  Responsible for the general maintenance on municipal pumps and water services infrastructure to ensure safe and precise supply of water services to consumers/rates payers/general public.
    • Supervision and control over the assisting team’s daily productivity of the section related matters:   By delegation of work and assistance during maintenance of pumps and panels to ensure constant availability of water related services to consumers/ratepayers/general public.  Maintain discipline within assisting teams. – Manage and measure daily activities and performance of assisting teams to ensure maximum productivity and highquality standard of work (ensuring the minimization of downtime and optimal functioning of the section).
    •  Responsible for safety of coworkers, vehicles, and equipment by:  Immediately Reporting any losses or injuries to the superintendent immediately for safety efficiency precautions as stipulated by the safety acts.  Adhere to health and safety environment, quality and housekeeping standards.  To ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.  Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
