    Assistant Project Manager

    Purpose of the Job

    • Working in support of the MSA Project Manager and the PMO Core Team to drive sub-projects of the MSA Project through their life cycle in alignment with QCD commitments. This is a junior post aimed at a candidate embarking on a Project Management career looking for an entry level opportunity. Reporting on project performance, risks and opportunities. Manage all operational aspects of projects or sub projects on behalf of the Project Manager when required. The role reports to the Project Manager

    Mobility

    • The Assistant Project Manager will from time to time be required to attend meetings/inspections at other Gibela and PRASA sites in South Africa. Occasional International travel may be required depending on project needs.

    Measurements (Key Performance Indicators)

    • Business Cases, Design Reviews and Gate Reviews Go on Time
    • CCB Change Requests processed through the Change and Configuration Board (CCB) on time
    • Risk Management
    • Readiness of the factory to switch to new variants/baselines
    • Customer satisfaction with respect to new trains and the factory
    • EHS adherence
    • Customer Satisfaction

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the development of business cases
    • Assist in executing projects according to the Project Management Manual
    • Assist in weekly and monthly reporting on project performance
    • Assist with identification of risks, managing the risk register and following up on risk actions
    • Assist with PMO APSYS reviews and following up on actions

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
    • Project Management training an advantage
    • IT literate ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the railway or similar industry
    • Experience in Project Management would be an advantage but not essential
