    Assistant Purpose, Strategy and Partnerships Manager

    JOB SUMMARY

    As the Assistant manager - Purpose Strategy and Partnerships you will help the Purpose Strategy and Partnerships Lead, to:

    • To lead and manage full deployment of the multi-branded, hygiene & sanitation schools programme for ULSA and department of Basic Education
    • Conceptualise and lead the execution of retail campaigns linked to brands with purpose
    • Engage and influence key external and internal stakeholders to achieve sustainable and impactful brand purpose
    • Help to develop and implement brand purpose strategies & plans to drive sustainable business growth across all 3 divisions that drive
    • Coordinate and work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders (i.e. marketing, digital, shopper marketing teams & corporate comms) and external parties (i.e. agency partners, public and private sector partners) to manage purpose development, strategy, and execution in line with brands and partnership objectives
    • Promote the purpose, vision, and objectives of Unilever brands to external stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain strong, positive, and effective partnerships and purpose-led relationships that are relevant to the implementation of the purpose of the brands
    • Lead the design and implementation of the impact measurement evaluation and research study for all the behaviour change programmes for multiple brands with purpose to build external credibility (i.e. Advocacy)
    • Manage and lead the relationship with Agencies' research unit to ensure the credibility of the study
    • Capture and share learnings with brands, CSO, external partners and other markets to share best practice experience of delivering impactful behaviour change programs
    • Support and lead in identifying, developing and securing key public & private sector partnerships that will enable brands to land their purpose with credibility & impact
    • Update Senior Leadership teams at relevant times on key Brand purpose projects
    • Manage brand budget for above programme
    • Management of budget/s: 1) to implement the Schools Programme and 2) for Brand Purpose Projects
    • Lead the development and implementation of Advocacy campaigns for brands with purpose during key global & local moments, e.g. Global Handwashing Day, International Women’s Day
    • Key Relationships and Teams:
    • Purpose Strategy and Partnerships Lead
    • Strong working relationships with the SA Brand and Category Managers, Senior Leadership, CMI, Customer and Shopper Marketing teams
    • Strong relationship with the Global Unilever brand team
    • Strong awareness and be prepared to have a working relationship with various Public Departments (government, NGO’s etc.)
    • Relationships with media partners (PR, digital, media agencies)
    • Sustainability teams local and global

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant Marketing Degree
    • Minimum 3 years in a Marketing and / or Communications role with relevant experience detailed below
    • Interest, appreciation and knowledge in order to manage Agencies working on Digital Projects
    • Experience in working on digital projects in developing/developed market contexts – preferred
    • Experience in managing brand / communication budgets
    • Understanding of business and marketing principles
    • Communications experience is highly beneficial
    • Curiosity and a love for consumer (people) insight – ability to uncover insights and translate these into actions for brands
    • Passion for Purpose and making a difference
    • Strong project management skills for managing multiple stakeholders
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong relationships, cross-cultural understanding and versatility in dealing with a various people and environments
    • Ability to work on and with multiple brands and projects at a time
