Au Pair | Maroelana, Pretoria | R12 500 Per Month at Au Pair Extraordinaire

• Area: Maroelana, Pretoria
• Children: Twin boys, 12 years old (Grade 7)
• Child Snapshot: Both boys have ADHD and are medicated, but still require support with concentration, organisation, planning, time management, following instructions and working independently. They are also hearing impaired and each wear one hearing aid, benefiting from clear, face-to-face communication and consistent routines. They are currently behind in the foundational concepts of Mathematics, English and Afrikaans and need patient, structured academic support to close these gaps. Although they are twins, they become easily distracted by one another and work best when supported individually.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday 13:30 - 18:00
• School Holiday Hours: Same as above / Slightly Flexible
• Duties: Collect the boys from school, transport them to extra murals, appointments and lessons, supervise and assist with homework, prepare a light snack or meal, engage them in educational activities and games, and ensure their school bags are packed and organised for the following day. The primary focus is on homework support, building study skills, organisation, independence and confidence.
• Special Requirements: The family is looking for a patient, calm, structured and organised candidate with experience supporting children with ADHD and learning challenges. The ideal candidate should be confident assisting with Grade 7 Mathematics, English and Afrikaans, particularly Mathematics, be comfortable working with hearing-impaired children, and be firm but kind in their approach. An older candidate would be advantageous. They should be able to adapt their teaching style to each child's individual needs and become a positive mentor who encourages both boys to thrive academically and personally.
• Start Date: ASAP – permanent
• Salary: R12 500pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

• Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
• Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
• Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
• Must have a clear criminal record
• Must have a passion for children
• Must have Matric
• Must have a South African ID document.
