Big Data Developer Role - CIB Risk Services

Location: Randburg

The purpose of the role is to build solutions within the CIB Risk Data space on the Big Data Platform. As a member of the CIB Risk Data team, this role will be responsible to build solutions that land data from external applications onto the Big Data platform as well as solutions that utilise the data already landed on the platform.

Accountability: Development and program support Attend all scoping and planning workshops for BAU and project initiatives and provide input into the design process to ensure that solution meets the business requirements. Accurately estimate project activities and communicate deviations promptly to the lead or project manager for appropriate action by participating in development planning and progress review sessions. Development of solutions using Spark and Scala Testing of development work done Accountability: Stakeholder and Management Reporting Attend relevant project progress review sessions and provide feedback when required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Preference: Development experience in Big Data Scala / Spark / Hive experience
• If yOU have Big Data experience, min requirement 2 years’ experience If pure Application Developer, min 2 – 4 years’ experience and they will upskill
•  Data experience (SQL / Data modelling / Data Engineering)
• Critical – you will be working in Data Engineering on a Data Platform, not Data Science / AI 
•  Knowledge & Skills: Data Processing Scala Development Language Hadoop Architecture and Operating System (Cloudera) Hadoop SQL (Hive)
