Job Description

• An opportunity exists for an experienced and dependable Boiler House Coordinator to oversee the efficient and safe operation of coal-fired chain grate boilers, biomass boilers, and associated equipment. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to maintenance and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• 5–8 years’ experience in a similar role within an industrial environment
• Proven experience operating and maintaining coal-fired chain grate boilers (above 20 bar)
• Experience with biomass boilers (advantageous)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of coal-fired chain grate boilers and biomass boilers
• Monitor boiler performance and optimise operational efficiency
• Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and breakdown response
• Oversee pressure vessel preparation and testing
• Supervise and lead boiler house staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and disciplinary procedures
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and relevant legislation
• Maintain high standards of safety, health, and environmental compliance
• Assist in other operational areas as required by management
• Ensure effective time management and productivity within the team
