Bontrager Forecaster at Trek Bicycle

Job Description

Trek South Africa is looking for a dynamic individual to join their fast-growing team as the Bontrager Forecaster. This role requires a strong product and industry knowledge of the bicycle accessories market. The new team member will be responsible for the full ownership of the Bontrager brand and driving the South African growth of this business in conjunction with the overall Trek strategy. This role will suit an entrepreneurial personality type that enjoys working on their own and gathering qualitative data on market trends whilst using this to drive the quantitative sales forecasts and projections.

Responsibilities

• Managing quantitative demand forecasts for Bontrager products.
• Manage product information and communication with business partners.
• Selection of Bontrager product range for the South African Market with analysis on the wider Sub-Saharan business.
• Gathering qualitative data on market trends from all business elements.
• Formulating actionable plans to supply market with Bontrager products.
• Manage variance between supply plan and sales plan through S&OP process.
• Establish pricing strategy with sales team
• Prepare and present sales, forecasting and inventory analytics for management team
• Bontrager monthly orders based on demand plans
• Managing incoming shipments and custom clearance
• Other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Tertiary education in a relevant field – Bachelor of commerce in Supply chain management or Business management.
• Prior experience in finished goods forecasting and inventory management
• Knowledge of international shipping preferred
• Must have experience working with external vendors
• Experience working with international brands
• Excellent communication and follow up skills
• Prior experience in the cycling industry beneficial
• Commitment to continuous improvement
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• John Galt Forecasting software experience preferred
• Overall deep understanding of business analytics
