Matric / Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent at NQF level 4.
Valid Driver’s License Code C; EC1/ 04; EC.
Minimum of 3 years functional experience of which 6 months must be on utilization of breakdown tools and equipment.
Key performance areas
Breakdown/ Towing services.
Take calls for break down assistance requirements and ascertain the problem and location of the caller.
Investigate the car damage and diagnose problem.
Perform minor repair services e.g. reconnect parts, test and attempt to jump start a dead battery, inflate and change tyre, replace spark plug and connect loose wires.
Strap and connect bus to the tow truck and transport to the required destination.
Follow up with team regularly to provide status updates, as well as estimated time of arrivals to the destination.
Dismantle damaged buses to salvage parts, using such hand tools.
Remove, bend, or cut parts of damaged buses to prepare for towing.
