Business Performance Analyst at Luno

The role in a nutshell

We’re looking for someone exceptionally analytically minded, who will design, implement and maintain an effective business analytics capability to drive both efficiencies and decision making within the business.

Your mission will involve 

• Develop, implement and maintain an effective business analytics capability including but not limited to  revenue, customer acquisition, expenses and capital expenditures to help drive efficiency throughout the organisation.

• Monitor business core metrics and other performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variances.

• Define new metrics to help drive commercial performance of the business.

• Work with various teams to overlay financial with non-financial data.

• Strengthening communication of existing analyses across the business to create a central hub of knowledge to enhance decision making.

• Provide the team with informed analysis to establish goals and measure performance of the group, across multiple countries and products.

• Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in marketing programmes, pricing, new products and projects.

In your first six months, you will:

• Define and create metrics to seek out opportunities for value or efficiency creation that aligns with Luno’s strategy.

• Monitor and distribute business insight to the relevant stakeholders

• Collate and understand analysis performed across teams to create a central hub of knowledge.

• Integrate yourself into the team and learn our ways of working.

'The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have'

• A bright, analytical mindset, able to quickly grasp concepts and think creatively about solutions.

• The attention to detail of a hawk.

• Proficiency in using SQL to query data from underlying relational databases.

• Practical experience in analytics and data visualisation.

• Understanding of systems and flow of data.

• Excel in Excel.

• Strong communication with the ability to engage with a variety of people across the business at all levels.

• Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in regulated financial services.

• Exposure to using Looker, Tableau, QlikView or other data exploration and discovery business intelligence platforms.

• Experience building in Anaplan OR a willingness to learn how to use Anaplan.
