Qualifications and experience required:

• Grade twelve (12).
• Firearm proficiency.
• A valid Code B driver’s licence.
• Basic training qualification attained.
• No criminal record.

Key attributes and competencies:

• The physical attributes associated with this post necessitate that the incumbent is physically fit and able-bodied to perform the relevant functions, and as such, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit themselves to the Municipal Medical Doctor to be medically examined as part of the selection process.
• Special conditions attached to this post:
• May be required to work planned/unplanned overtime in all weather conditions.
• Please note that the appointment is subject to passing the relevant vetting.

Job purpose:

• Performing activities/tasks associated  with the provision of a traffic service by monitoring  and attending to situations and associated with minimising traffic congestion or offences committed causing inconvenience and risk to public safety, conducting investigations, traffic patrols/controls, enforcing traffic compliance in order to ensure any risk to public safety or contravention to traffic regulations and specific by-laws is identified and that corrective/compliance measures are enforced in respect of offenders.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
