Job Description

Purpose of the Role: Safe and efficient manufacture of good quality cans produced to production plan to meet customer requirements.

• Conduct regular check on spoilage to analyze and investigate causes and implement corrective action
• Correct interpretation and conformance to quality standard
• Inform Foreman re quality trends in order to take corrective action
• Reject poor quality production and rectify cause
• Evaluate raw material and reject if necessary
• Adhere to QA Systems and procedures
• Adherence and improvements on HFI targets
• Produce cans according to production plan / schedule
• Monitor daily production against schedule and take corrective action
• Effective utilization of machines according to standards
• Carried out correctly and within standard time
• Drive line performance and reduce spoilage
• Monitor and control consumables and production spares budget
• Examine machine parts before replacing with new parts to reduce/ control costs
• Assist with monthly stock take
• Identify training needs
• Maintain on-line training
• Provide on-the-job training

Job Requirements

Qualification

• Have a Gr12 certificate
• Qualified as Canmaker
• 3-6 Years on an apprenticeship or learnership.

Knowledge

• Be analytical and a good problem solver
• Knowledge of Can construction (advantageous)
