    Business Overview

    • This is a busy, fast paced operation which offers many challenges and opportunities for the right person. This position is based at Ndlovu Park, Pietermaritzburg.

    Role Outline

    • To contribute to a productive working environment
    • To work within any operating area as determined by Management and the needs of the Business
    • Verification of processes throughout the Warehouse
    • To minimise stock losses and to maintain the Inventory Stock Record accuracy
    • Receive and execute instructions from Management
    • To verify the Stock Keeping Unit and material code label information on bulk and breakbulk pallets to physical characteristics of the product
    • To accurately record the number of pallets per load received, whilst maintaining quality
    • The ability to pick up errors
    • When carrying out your duties {checking}, to follow the Standard Operating Procedures and safe working practices
    • Visual checks of truck and pest control standards
    • Handle goods with care to minimise damages
    • Ensure pallets are labelled correctly and with the correct quantity / expiry dates
    • Confirm any discrepancies with Management
    • De-stack pallets where necessary to ensure correct pallet configuration and quantities
    • Perform additional duties / tasks as assigned by Management
    • Ensure invoices match the stock
    • Ensure that all tasks are performed in line with OMS
    • Be actively involved in and to support change initiatives
    • Honesty – pride in your job and an eye for detail
    • Ensure housekeeping in the area is up to standard
    • Operate with integrity and ethical values
    • Correct use of equipment and to timeously report any defects / faults
    • Inspect stock integrity
    • Report and record any non-conformity with regards to the customers merchandise or unsafe acts
    • Maintain a high level of hygiene in the work area
    • Complete tasks timeously and meet the required KPI
    • Adhere to the Unit’s SHE rules and best practices
    • Ensure that product safety, quality and integrity are not compromised
    • Report any person’s behaviour that may impact on the safety, quality and integrity of the stored product

    • Matric

    Skills/Competencies/Experiences

    • Ability to communicate effectively with team members

    • Ability to enforce H & S procedures and identify hazards – awareness of the importance of security
    • Computer literate
    • WMOS experience and knowledge
    • Ability to meet deadlines and KPI’s
    • Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment
    • Good written and communication skills
    • Working knowledge of packaging and warehousing methods
    • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions effectively and logically
    • Ability to count accurately and to perform simple maths calculations
    • 1 – 2 years’ experience in checking / warehousing, logistics and FMCG environment
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to work additional and flexible hours - overtime
    • Person should know what products are handled by the Company
    • Knowledge of client’s requirements and customer needs
    • Good understanding of quality as a key value
    • Operational knowledge and understanding of service delivery
    • React to customers in a courteous and professional manner and maintain at the highest level

    Languages

    • English - verbal and written.
