Chief Audit Executive at AfroCentric Group

Position Purpose
To deliver comprehensive Internal Audit framework/philosophy for the group, ensuring all identified risks are addressed within best practice standards. The incumbent is expected to guide and aid the business for a better control environment and a more efficient business mode.

Experience
12 years plus experience in the auditing environment including 5 years at senior management level

Qualifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant. Current Registration with the necessary institute.

Key responsibilties for this role
Divisional Leadership:

• Accountability for the function's performance, within the agreed strategic framework
• Develop and retain skilled, engaged employees
• Promote transformation

Operating Model:

• Present the annual internal audit plan on risk assessments completed to the Audit Committee for approval
• Ensure that projects are sufficiently scoped in terms of identified risks, sufficiently resourced in terms of skills required for the project and appropriately planned to meet deadlines
• Review and sign off reports before issuing to clients
• Develop business plans to implement the defined integrated functional plans with peer divisions or functions
• Optimise the function's core internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve functional operating conflicts

Strategy Implementation:

• Remain up to date with macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general, to anticipate and plan for circumstances that may influence the development and implementation of the functional strategic plan
• Provide input into and develop the functional strategic plan
• Ensure strategy is implemented in a manner that supports operational and market imperatives
• Communicate strategic context and strategic implementation plans to ensure operational best practice and continuous improvement
