Job Description
GOOGLE ADS MANAGERS - 3 POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Full-Time | Fully Remote | South Africa | Entry, Mid & Senior Level
- Are you a Google Ads specialist who genuinely understands the platform - not just someone who's spent time clicking around inside it?
- We're growing our team and looking to fill three Google Ads Manager positions - one entry level, one mid level and one senior level.
- The entry-level and mid-level roles are behind-the-scenes, non-client-facing positions, while the senior-level role is client-facing.
THE THREE LEVELS
Entry Level
- Best suited to someone with hands-on Google Ads experience who can manage day-to-day optimisation with guidance.
Mid Level
- Suited to someone who can independently manage multiple accounts, identify issues and opportunities, and make optimisation decisions with minimal supervision.
Senior Level
- Includes client-facing responsibility, account strategy, performance discussions and recommendations, as well as mentoring and supporting the wider team.
Across all three levels, you'll work with one of our agency partners and manage a portfolio of approximately 10-20 Google Ads accounts, depending on your experience and the complexity of the accounts.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Reviewing and refining search terms and managing negative keywords
- Identifying new keyword opportunities
- Monitoring campaign, keyword and conversion performance
- Maintaining and improving ad copy, with a focus on strong Responsive Search Ad performance
- Reviewing budgets and bidding strategies
- Monitoring cost per conversion and flagging issues or opportunities
- Keeping accounts organised, optimised and well maintained
- Identifying areas for improvement and making practical optimisation recommendations
For larger projects - such as new campaign builds, account restructures, Enhanced Conversions and Performance Max builds - you'll flag these to your manager, and your workload will be adjusted so you have the time to do them properly.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We care far more about how you think than how long your CV is.
You should:
- Have a strong practical understanding of Google Ads, including Search and Performance Max
- Understand keyword match types, search term optimisation and negative keyword management
- Understand bidding strategies and conversion tracking
- Be able to identify problems and opportunities independently
- Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Be comfortable managing multiple accounts and working without constant direction
- Be able to analyse performance data and turn it into practical optimisation decisions
For the Senior Level role, you'll also need to be comfortable communicating directly with clients, discussing performance, explaining recommendations and contributing to account strategy.
THE INTERVIEW
Expect detailed, practical questions on:
- Campaign structure
- Keyword strategy
- Bidding
- Budget allocation
- Conversion tracking
- Diagnosing poor performance
You'll also work through a live scenario where you'll walk us through how you'd structure and run a new Google Ads account.
No rehearsed answers needed - we want to see how you actually think.
WORKING HOURS
- Flexible and fully remote, with good availability during UK working hours to stay connected with the wider team.
- This opportunity is ideally suited to someone based in South Africa, given the small time difference with the UK.
SALARY & PROGRESSION
R35,000 - R59,000 per month, depending on experience.
- Salary within this range will be determined by your experience level, ability and the complexity of accounts you can confidently manage.
- We pay towards the top of the applicable range for strong, independent performers.
- There are clear progression opportunities into more senior Google Ads and Team Manager responsibilities, including account strategy, mentoring and oversight as the team grows.
- Sound like you? We'd love to hear from you.
