Chief Education Specialist: FET - Ehlazeni District
An appropriate recognised three- or four- year qualification, which includes professional teacher education in the learning/subject area/phase, plus nine years relevant experience. Management experience will be an advantage. Comprehensive knowledge of the education sector related legislation and policy initiatives including public examination management and Further Education and Training subjects. Computer literacy. Valid driver’s license. Registration with SACE.
Excellent leadership-, interpersonal-, motivational-, analytical and financial management skills; good written and verbal communications skills; writing skills; ability to plan, manage and delegate as well as monitor public administrative functions; innovative, analytical and creative thinking. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.
DUTIES
Manage and co-ordinate the Implementation of curriculum within the prescribed national policy in respect of the FET subjects. Serve as nodal point between the MDE and the district regarding broad curriculum for further education and training. Manage and co-ordinate the administration of all matters concerning public examinations at district level. Consult and network with other stakeholders i.r.o. the above.
