Chief Financial Officer at 10X Investments

Specification    
To head 10X’s finance from a strategic, managerial and operational basis. This is an executive position with substantial responsibility and challenges. The CFO works closely with the CEO to develop, refine and monitor 10X’s overall strategy with a particular focus on the financial aspects of 10X’s business plan and operations. 

Financial reporting

• AFS
• Management accounts
• 10X Retirement Fund accounts
• Regulatory reports
• Manage finance and accounting team
• Financial profitability
• Produce product and client profitability under multiple growth scenarios
• Produce life-time client value and ROI analysis
• Produce sales and marketing ROI analysis, including a framework for measuring growth hacking
• Produce functional area profitability with projections for scale benefits and efficiencies
• Financial projections
• Produce short and medium term financial budgets and projections linked to 10X’s business plan

Capital allocation and Funding

• Manage 10X’s capital allocation, treasury and funding requirements

Other

• Accountable for 10X’s financial KPIs by functional area
• Responsible for revenue and expenses management and optimization
• Manage 10X’s Legal and Compliance department
• BEE scorecard accountability
• Manage 10X’s ESOP
• Regular Shareholder and board engagement including presenting to the audit and risk committees of the 10X and the 10X funds. 
• Manage 10X’s Legal and Compliance department 
• Manage 10X’s investment and product development teams

Requirements    
Qualification and Experience:

• Qualified Actuary or CA (SA) 
• At least seven years’ experience with an exceptional track record
• Thorough industry understanding and exposure to the Retirement Funding industry is desirable 
• Experience in a fast-growing, challenging business environment would be an advantage. 
• Strong technology experience, including BI and KPI analysis 
•  Passion for investing based upon stewardship, not salesmanship 
• Start-up exposure or time spent in a start-up tech environment 
• Complex problem solving: The ability to solve complex business challenges with the appropriate technology response
• Digital curiosity: The willingness to explore and work with new technologies as they emerge
• Management: The ability to plan, organise, lead and monitor multi-disciplinary teams, its human capital, systems, process and procedures effectively
• A self-starter with strong internal motivation
• A track record of delivering high performance and overcoming challenges
• Communication skills: You will interface with service providers and colleagues frequently. You need to be able to express yourself both verbally and in writing in simple and clear ways that are well understood.
