A relevant tertiary qualification preferably a Clinical Psychology Degree
Current valid registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
35 years relevant experience
Experience in culturally diverse communities
PC Literate
A valid driver’s licence
Experience in primary health care services is desirable
The position may require the successful candidate to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, depending on the needs of the clinic and the patients
The successful candidate may be required to work at different clinics or community health facilities
Key Performance Areas
Provides primary care mental health psychology interventions for patients in primary health care facilities (clinics) including diagnosis,counselling and therapeutic interventions(treatment)
Participates in the clinic-based multidisciplinary team meetings around patients' case reports
Provides Interpersonal relationship management as a subject expert
Project manages at clinic level the implementation of the mental health programme
Conducts or participates in operational research that addresses gaps or challenges in mental health service delivery, client experience, or clinical outcomes.
Completes administrative tasks related to job function
