Reddam House Bedfordview, part of Inspired Education Group, is seeking an experienced and passionate Music Teacher (Grades 6–12) to join our school from January 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their musical ability and creativity, contributing to a vibrant performing arts culture within the school.
The role requires a dedicated educator who promotes the holistic development and well-being of each student while maintaining high academic and artistic standards. The ideal candidate will bring energy, innovation, and a genuine passion for music education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons.
Establish a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes active participation and creativity.
Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, preparation, and classroom standards.
Continuously evaluate and refine teaching practice to ensure student progress.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
Conduct extra lessons when required, typically on two afternoons per week.
Produce high-quality teaching resources and materials.
Respond to parent communications within 24 hours in a professional manner.
Support and uphold the ethos, values, and expectations of Reddam House.
Attend school functions and special events as required by the Head of School.
Set, mark, and moderate assessments, examinations, and provide constructive feedback.
Write detailed and accurate student report comments.
Manage and oversee the peripatetic music programme.
Undertake any additional reasonable tasks as directed by the Head of School or line manager.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
A university degree in a relevant subject area.
Certified Teaching Status and SACE registration.
At least 5 years’ experience teaching Music to school-age students.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students through dynamic, creative teaching.
Experience teaching within the IEB curriculum.
Confidence and competence in the use of ICT for teaching and learning.
Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
A positive attitude towards collaboration, growth, and change.
A commitment to student development and well-being.
