Consultant/Trainer (Learning & Development )1 at The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)

Reporting to Learning & Development Manager: To plan, facilitate, coordinate and implement learning interventions, workshops, seminars and conferences that contribute to business efficiencies and financial gain of the organization. To render learning and development support to business units and / or provinces with specific emphasis on the implementation and evaluation of learning interventions to support the achievement of divisional and organisational objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

• Collaborating with internal departments to develop training materials that achieve defined learning outcomes.
• Design and develop course materials and teaching aids that support content delivery
• Prepare training materials for training inclusive of Trainer guides & Learner guides for different delivery methodologies.
• Revising, modifying, and updating training materials
• Plan and implement an effective training curriculum.

ASSESSMENTS & MODERATION

• Analyse the report of completed training.
• Develop assessment guides, conduct assessments and moderation, whilst maintaining the principles of assessment and moderation.
• Conduct assessments based on pilot training content, and review developed content.
• Provide assessment; and moderation reports based on the intervention reviewed.

FACILITATION & COACHING

• Facilitation of training interventions via different learning methodologies.
• Present and deliver training effectively following andragogy principles.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions focussed on training interventions
• Cultivate a learner led environment by supporting and developing workplace coaches, aligned to the 70-20-10 model. 
• Evaluate the delivery of the interventions by analysing learner feedback and monitoring the outcome of training sessions.

GOVERNANCE; ADMIN & RISK

• Ensure the proper execution of Training processes to mitigate risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial loss and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations.
• Consolidation and implementation of the WSP.
• Effective management of  provider SLA’s and the budget.
• Identifying individual and organizational obstacles to learning and facilitating interventions.

INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree: Human Resources Development (NQF 7) or equivalent
• NQF L5/6 ODETDP (Vocational Qualification, an added advantage)

EXPERIENCE

3-5 Years’ Experience in Learning & Development. Experience and ability to design and deliver content on multiple platforms.
