Job Description
PURPOSE

• Provide day to day commercial contract administration whilst supporting the Commercial and Growth Manager on the long-term objectives of the Integrated Iron Ore Logistics Channel for Kumba in South Africa.

KEY TASKS
Performance & Delivery

• Monitor commercial relationships with contractors (especially Transnet).
• Support the Transnet contract execution, including invoices, reporting, and monitoring all agreements (e.g. Private siding, SLAs, Water supply, etc.)
• Support the development of negotiations strategy/plan for Kumba with supplier or contractor.
• Support expansions negotiation & contractual agreement development.
• Compile Service Level Agreements (SLA) with contractors after initial negotiations.
• Monitor compliance of contractual agreements – coordinate inputs from others on SLA compliance.
• Escalate non-compliance to agreed service levels and support appropriate resolution.
• Execute logistical support for expansion projects.
• Muster subject matter expertise to growth projects.

Stakeholder management

• Build and maintain relationship with Transnet at the overall Iron Ore Export Channel level.

Qualifications
Specific Knowledge requirements:

Operations

• Freight, shipping, and supply chain (Planning, Processing, Logistics) preferably within a complex industry environment
• Broader mining business
• Port, rail, and train load out (RLT) or alternative transport operations
• Rail and port operations
• An understanding of dynamic planning and distribution and supply chains

Commercial:

• Legal / contract management
• Rail and port regulatory, commercial, and operational frameworks
