    Costing Specialist - Bellville

    Position Summary

    • The individual will support the DC Manager as a trusted co-pilot within the DC on a day-to-day basis.  Provide visibility around costs related to the DC processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the budget and controlling the variances), ensure adherence to financial legal requirements and NAS.

    A day in the life of a DC Costing Specialist:

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Support cost improvement opportunities for FDE and VDE and warehouse specific Bad Goods, be an active contributor to improvement projects and initiatives, validate, review and track proposed savings (NCE, OPEX).
    • Challenge assumptions for cost improvements in DC.
    • Actively drive NCE activities within the Distribution Centre and ensure activities are in alignment with business OMP

    Reporting and Analytics:

    • Manage DC reporting of actuals and forecasts across the DC ensuring transparency, accuracy, and timeliness of this process; follow up and monitoring of progress to close gaps, ensuring Nestle financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed by promoting ownership of data at source
    • Perform monthly supply chain variance analysis of YTD vs Plan vs Prior Year.

    Internal Controls:

    • Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation, and compliance with internal controls in all areas of PL in order to optimize each
    • This includes establishing a solid and periodic monitoring of the internal controls’ effectiveness and appropriately escalating business risks.

    Knowledge Transfer:

    • Drive clear understanding of financial key figures and costing within Distribution, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists.

    Compliance:

    • Manage routine audit activities in the distribution area, in particular inventory by performing routine audit activities to ensure compliance on critical areas eg) NAS, Costing Standards, statutory accounting/tax, OPEX guideline and appropriately escalate business risks.
    • As the Champion of compliance & risk management is actively involved in internal and external audits within Distribution.

    Budget Control:

    • Support period end closing with main stakeholders.
    • Analyze and report actuals vs. budget and update forecast accordingly, ensuring alignment with the business and PL Controlling.
    • Prepare and coordinate PL budget with alignment to PL Controller
       

    What will make you successful?

    •     Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar.
    •     Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ costing experience in Factory/Manufacturing or Supply Chain
    •     FMCG or Manufacturing environment experience 
    •     Someone with a strong compliance background
