Job Description

Job Purpose

• To lead and coordinate the delivery of the financial agenda of the Med Tech business in the South Africa, by acting as a valued business partner to the General Manager of South Africa and his/her board. This includes shaping the strategy execution, drive decisions on portfolio optimizations, acting as a statutory member of the board of Directors and go to market models and take a lead role in management processes to drive profitable growth.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide high quality business partnering support to the General Manager, Business Unit leads and Finance Director
• To represent Finance organization in the statutory Board of Directors in the Country.
• To cooperate with external audit companies together with CTC Poland team.
• Provide strong financial leadership to secure long term profitable growth, through analysis of new business opportunities and other key projects (e.g. Value co-creation, Resource allocation, Portfolio Rationalization & Working Capital Improvement). Partner with the business to drive execution, build sound financial models and ensure ongoing monitoring.
• Manage the delivery of the SA P&L to ensure that targets are hit and financial commitments are attained. Balance risks and opportunities across the countries and functions. Course correct as required.
• Monitor, analyse and interpret the external / macroeconomic environment, framing the possible financial implications and partner with the business to develop mitigation plans.
• Interpret, communicate and review key financial performance metrics (Sales, GP, Price/Volume, OPEX, etc) with cluster leadership team. Actively partner with them to agree any resulting actions and ensure successful execution and follow-up.
• Develop a strong partnership with the HMD Regional finance team, BS COE in Pinewood, Tax and GS Finance in Prague built on high levels of trust and transparent communication. Foster one team spirit, accountability and commitments post ESP implementation.
• Actively lead, manage and develop the Finance team in South Africa. Maximize the power of diversity and inclusion.
• Meet all compliance requirements: SOX, Records Retention, HCC/HCBI/IAPP etc
• Other ad-hoc tasks and initiatives as required.

Background information and Main Activities

• The primary location of the role is Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa
• There is a limited degree of travel (5%) within EMEA dependent on project involvement and specific cluster needs
• Working from home on an irregular basis is possible

Knowledge / Experience / Skills

• The successful individual will have a commercial mindset with a strong financial backbone and is confident at representing the organization & finance function at various levels inside and outside of Johnson & Johnson. You are a team player and develop strong relationships across countries and functions.

Essential

• Masters in finance, Accounting or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance with a similar level, or within a multinational environment.
• Ability to bring clarity to complex business issues and proven success in managing complex projects and processes. A track record of driving constructive change should be evident
• Proven track record of effective business partnering & results delivery in a highly matrix environment
• Strong commercial acumen
• Excellent communication and influencing skills - across cultural differences and ensuring all management understand the financial priorities and constraints, ability to align business partners on tough financial calls
• Utilize knowledge of organizational drivers, dynamics, and informal networks to influence appropriate business decisions
