Deputy Chief Investment Officer - Centurion at Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited

Requirements

• Relevant post- graduate qualification (Investment Management, CA, CFA, MBA, Actuarial Science, Quantitative or Risk Management qualifications).
• +-10 years relevant working experience, of which at least five years should be in a senior management position within an investments business.
• A proven track record as a senior portfolio manager or related role within a DFM, oversight on ESG, Manager research and responsible investing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drive the implementation of the Investment philosophy.

• Effectively contribute as a member of the Investments Management Executive Committee, representing Equilibrium, Manager Research, ESG and overall Investments strategy in partnership with the CIO.
• Ensure the effective development, management, and implementation of the equilibrium investments strategy in alignment with the overall investment philosophy and strategy of Momentum Investments.
• Effectively contribute to the management of the investment forum to ensure investment capabilities and initiatives are appropriately prioritized and aligned to the investment philosophy.
• Contribute effectively to the investments decision-making structures (ICs, Portfolio Solutions Policy Group etc.) to ensure that the investment philosophy is embedded and implemented in the portfolios managed by Momentum Investment Management
• Proactively and effectively engage stakeholders across the investments value-chain to ensure delivery on prioritized initiatives.
• Ensure the optimization of our manager research capability as a key enabler of the overarching business to strengthen both investment decision making and operational efficiencies across the business to ensure a future fit business.
• Ensure the development and implementation of an ESG strategy, which includes proxy voting, reporting and all related activities.
• Ensure the achievement of growth targets, management of margins and expenses of the equilibrium portfolio.
• Effectively identify opportunities to leverage off strategic relationships and alliances to build new investment and growth opportunities.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness and performance of investment strategies, products and solutions and identify areas of opportunity that will enhance the client experience and profitability.

Drive a client centric environment that focuses on best practice service delivery.

• Ensure the building and maintenance of relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Effectively contribute to sustaining a competitive edge through external networking and benchmarking and representation on related forums.
• Effectively represent Momentum Investments at various platforms with key stakeholders and contribute to the development of content for marketing purposes.
• Ensure the effective engagement with stakeholders internally for purposes of collaboration and value creation in partnership with related functions.
• Ensure the effective engagement with external stakeholders and potential clients to ensure the promotion of our investments brand and philosophy to enable business growth.

Drive effective budget management and financial discipline.

• Provide support to the CIO in managing the Investment Management team budget
• Proactive and continuously ensure the identification, assessment, and management of specific income orientated initiatives to ensure delivery on agree financial metrics.
• Proactively facilitate the required processes and engagement with various investments capabilities to achieve agreed and or planned TERs.

Effectively lead investment professionals.

• Create a positive work climate and culture to energise employees, give meaning to work and minimize disruption.
• Ensure an effective level of leadership and management within the overall investments business but specifically to the equilibrium portfolio management and market insights capabilities.
• Proactively manage immediate and extended team dynamics through effectively engaging diverse teams, through the deployment of our values.
• Ensure the acquisition, integration, and development of talent to ensure high level of employee growth, development, and efficiency in the business.
• Proactively manage all team outputs to align outputs to strategic direction and objectives of Momentum Investments.
