Job Purpose

• The Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, secure, and reliable software solutions within the Hollard Life Solutions environment. The role contributes to the delivery of scalable systems by applying sound engineering practices, collaborating across delivery teams, and supporting the stability and continuous improvement of production platforms

Key Performance Area’s

Software development and solution delivery (technical)

• Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions aligned to business requirements
• Contribute to feature development across the full software development lifecycle
• Ensure code quality, readability, and maintainability through adherence to engineering standards

Engineering practices and quality assurance (technical)

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Apply secure coding practices and quality controls to reduce defects and vulnerabilities
• Support the delivery of reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems

Cloud, DevOps, and tooling (technical)

• Work within CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control processes
• Contribute to cloud-based solutions, primarily within Azure environments
• Support containerised and service-based architectures where applicable

Production support and operational stability (technical)

• Diagnose and resolve production incidents and defects
• Provide hands-on support to ensure system stability and availability
• Participate in root-cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures

Collaboration and agile delivery (behavioural)

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional delivery teams
• Contribute constructively within agile ceremonies and delivery forums
• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively within the team

Required Knowledge and Experience    
Minimum experience

• 3–5 years’ professional experience in software development
• Experience building production-ready applications using modern development frameworks

Desirable experience

• Experience with microservices, high-availability systems, or distributed architectures
• Exposure to insurance or financial services environments

Technical Competencies

• C# and .net / .net core development
• SQL and relational data modelling
• Azure fundamentals and cloud-based development
• CI/CD pipelines and git-based version control
• Secure coding and application reliability

Educational Requirements    
Minimum qualification

• Degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering

Desirable qualification

• Relevant cloud or platform certifications (e.g. Microsoft azure)
