    Developer Integration Specialist

    Introduction

    • An exciting career opportunity exists at Mintek for a Developer Integration Specialist .The incumbent will be responsible for system integrations and components (including but not limited to): Application to application integrations; Services; Internal and external API; File transfer; EDI and SQL queries; Participating in requirements analysis and decomposition; Design; Development; Internal testing; Documentation of same for the application-application integrations; Troubleshooting documenting existing integrations; Providing technical support to business users. Draws from a wide range of processes to select the most appropriate method to create a single source of the data to be accessed by all divisions in one place. Standardise data into coherent formats. Implement application integration services and data integration in line with Mintek architectural standards. Support digital solutions and understand theories and principles and/or systems that govern the integration. All suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply.

    Job description
    System Integration and Technical Support

    • Develop and maintain services used in application integrations
    • Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices
    • Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components
    • Design and develop warehousing process, data extraction, data transformation and data loading (ETL)
    • Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis
    • Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions
    • Coordinate directly with business users and business analyst to best understand and analyse business specifications
    • Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors
    • Ensure that the Software Development Lifecycle for the Software Development team is well-defined, documented, and implemented effectively
    • Ensures that work project and application development gets done while meeting the agreed time, scope, quality, and cost targets. Deliver business value as agreed with relevant project stakeholders, including that code reviews and quality assurance testing are done at each agreed development milestone of the project
    • Accountability for enhancements and quality management
    • Designing and implementing relational and dimensional database structures

    Technical Literacy

    • Fulfils an operational requirement by applying recognised specialised skills to a technical process/procedure or system.
    • Coordinate integration efforts and document all software integrations and design solutions
    • Administer integration production support requests such as troubleshooting and resolve integration errors
    • Proactively identify impact of potential process changes, integrate new initiatives with existing processes
    • Implement suitable integration solutions
    • System Analysis and Integration

    System Analysis

    • System integration, distributed computing, and building enterprise-wide systems
    • Data integration, validation, and reconciliation (SSIS or similar)
    • Reporting technologies (SSRS)
    • Analysing data and performing complex data manipulation using Microsoft SQL
    • Creating and maintaining cubes (SSAS).
    • Facilitate integration of software applications for information systems in adherence to technical architecture
    • Recommends alternate choices, trade-offs, and impact analysis
    • Monitoring of data flow between databases, servers and Cloud services

    Software Development

    • Competence in both the Agile Scrum and Waterfall project delivery models
    • Competence in the software development cycle
    • Competence in various Software Development technologies and concepts, including Microsoft .NET/C#, Micro services, SQL Server, HTML5, CSS, Xamarin/Nintex/InfoPath, Web services and APIs, Software Design Patterns, and DevOps
    • Familiarity with Solutions Architecture and/or Enterprise Architecture
    • Good understanding of Data Integration and warehousing tools
    • Writing SQL for Microsoft SQL Server (Stored procedures, UDF's, T-SQL querying);
    • Play a critical part in designing the architecture, coding, testing, and deployment process (API/ web services) for new features and improving existing ones
    • Introduce new tools, plugins and frameworks to ICT’s ecosystem to help increase development speed.

    Operational Support

    • Provide integration support to various technologies
    • Understand the interconnectedness of processes and the effect of changes of one process on other processes
    • Perform troubleshooting on all production issues and a variety of unrelated integration tasks
    • May act as supervisors, coaches or mentors for other AO-level employees
    • Required to establish specifications, improve processes, workflows and introduce operating procedures
    • Must apply the functions of management to own work and those of others
    • Efficient utilisation of time, materials, equipment, tools, energy and people

    General

    • Setting business requirements for integrations
    • Translate business requirements into technical ones
    • Leading the BI Software development, deployment and maintenance
    • Document contents in data warehousing and meta-data storage
    • Creating technical documentation for BI Tool

    Minimum requirements

    •  Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Information systems, or Information technology or Software Development or equivalent qualification experience
    • Certification: MCSA BI Developer Certification or MCSA BI Reporting Certification or Relevant certification/accreditation or ITIL foundation
    •  Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ development experience in a similar position
    •  At least 3 years in development working experience.
