    Digital Print Operator (70856)

    Job Description

    • An industry leader in the packaging/manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Digital Print Operator based in the Roodekop area.

    Tasks & responsibilities:

    • Operate the digital printing machine and utilise computer software to process print jobs.
    • Download, process, adjust and prepare customer artwork and files using relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.
    • Review and check customer files to ensure accuracy and print readiness before production.
    • Monitor print quality throughout the production process and ensure that required quality standards are consistently maintained.
    • Manage colour, ink and other printing requirements to achieve accurate and consistent print quality.
    • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and basic servicing of the digital printer.
    • Troubleshoot print-related problems and attend to minor equipment breakdowns where possible.
    • Make the necessary printer and computer interface adjustments to accommodate different print sizes, materials, weights and layout/imposition requirements.
    • Maintain the printer and surrounding work area in a clean, organised and safe condition.
    • Adhere to all company safety, quality and operational procedures.
    • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure that production requirements and deadlines are met.

    Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

    • Matric
    • N4 relevant technical qualification
    • 3-5 years' experience operating digital printing equipment.
    • Experience within a plastics manufacturing or packaging environment will be advantageous.
    • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in image-editing and relevant design software.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to be appropriately assertive when required.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
    • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organisation.
    • A proven track record of good punctuality and attendance.
    • Willingness and availability to work overtime when operationally required.
    • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Reliable, honest, self-motivated and accountable.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
