    Disaster Officer

    MINIMUM - COMPETENCIES

    • Sound knowledge of financial and procurement procedures. Knowledge and understanding of departmental policies, procedures and prescripts. Sound knowledge and understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework governing the Public Service, including the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999) (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPFA), and other legislation relevant to the post. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, colleagues and external stakeholders. Good organisational, interpersonal and administrative skills. Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, work extended hours when required, and perform duties with minimal supervision. The successful candidate must demonstrate responsibility, integrity, loyalty and honesty. A valid driver's license will be an added advantage.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 plus a recognised National Diploma in Public Administration or a related qualification recognised by SAQA. A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in an administrative environment or related field. 

    DUTIES

    • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Sub-programme. Coordinate procurement processes, including handling and processing quotations, invoices and liaising with Supply Chain Management and external stakeholders. Manage correspondence, records, filing systems and office administration. 
    • Coordinate meetings, appointments and stakeholder communication. Capture, consolidate and report programme performance information. Administer financial records, monitor expenditure and prepare budget reports. Maintain office equipment, supplies and electronic information management.
