Distribution and Fleet Manager - Cramond KZN at Accountancy Placements

• Our client in the FMCG sector is looking for an experienced and hands-on Distribution and Fleet Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all outbound distribution to ensure accurate, on-time delivery to customers
• Optimise routing and fleet utilisation to drive efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Lead daily dispatch operations, including vehicle checks, loading accuracy, and cold-chain compliance
• Supervise and manage drivers and offloading staff, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism
• Monitor driver behaviour and performance using tracking systems, promoting a strong safety culture
• Manage fleet maintenance, servicing, licensing, and full regulatory compliance
• Oversee fuel usage, including diesel procurement, reconciliations, and consumption tracking
• Prepare and present operational and cost reports to management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across distribution and fleet operations
• Manage team performance, scheduling, and employee relations in line with company policies

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a high-volume FMCG environment
• Proven track record in distribution, transport, or fleet management (experience in food production or cold-chain environments advantageous)
• Experience managing drivers and operational teams
• Strong understanding of cold-chain logistics and transport regulations
• Experience working with fleet tracking systems
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related systems
• Must be based in Pietermaritzburg or the surrounding areas
