    Distribution Centre Costing Specialist

    Position Summary

We’re now looking for a Costing Specialist at one of our Distribution Centre in Bellville. 


    Working as a Costing Specialist you would be responsible for providing efficient, effective and accurate costing support and advice to meet business (corporate and distribution centre) objectives. Provide visibility around costs related to the distribution processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting (monitoring of the budget and controlling the variances) and ensure adherence to statutory and NAS requirements.
     

    A day in the life of...

    A Costing Specialist 
    Continuous Improvement: Challenge assumptions in seeking cost improvements in Supply Chain, seek for support and cost improvement opportunities, validate and review proposed savings. Support cost improvement opportunities for DA, FDE and VDE and warehouse specific Bad Goods, be an active contributor to improvement projects and initiatives, validate, review and track proposed savings (OPEX). Challenge assumptions for cost improvements in DC. Actively drive NCE activities within the Distribution Centre and ensure activities are in alignment with business OMP.


    Reporting and Analytics: Reporting of actuals (including organising and overseeing timeliness and accuracy of period-end close) across Supply Chain regarding LTT Allowances. Check rebate agreements captured on GLOBE by Pricing Specialist and ensure all month end payments and customer deductions for all LTT Customers are accurate, reliable and timely. DC: Reporting of actuals and variances across the DC; follow up and monitoring of progress to close gaps, ensuring Nestle financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed by promoting ownership of data at source. Perform monthly supply chain variance analysis of YTD vs Plan vs Prior Year. 


    Compliance: Manage routine audit activities in the distribution area, in particular inventory by performing routine audit activities to ensure compliance on critical areas eg) NAS, Costing Standards, statuatory accounting/tax, OPEX guideline and appropriately escalate business risks. As the Champion of compliance & risk management is actively involved in internal and external audits within Supply Chain. Ensure that the Nestle Costing Standards LTT Standard Guidelines and Methodologies are observed and applied consistently.

     

    Forecasting:  LTT: Coordinate the forecast of Distribution Allowances, Swell Allowances and Bad goods Expenses to ensure alignment with monthly business planning and the Dynamic Forecast. Work closely with the Sales Finance, BU controllers, CFSC to ensure overall alignment. DC: Coordinate the forecast of the Distribution Center and ensure alignment with PL Manager, DC Managers and all GL owners in the DC.
    Internal Controls:  Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation, and compliance with internal controls in all areas of LTT and PL in order to optimize each. This includes establishing a solid and periodic monitoring of the internal controls’ effectiveness and appropriately escalating business risks.
     

    What will make you successful

    • BCom. Accounting Degree or a National Diploma in Accounting 

    • 3 – 5 years prior experience in Factory/DC Finance function (e.g.: factory finance, Costing, Ideally within a factory or supply chain

    • Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry experience(ideal)          

    • Experience within a network organization (internal and external providers)
