Draughtsman (12-month contract) at Afrimat

Minimum Requirements

• National Technical Diploma in Design drafting or equivalent.

• Knowledge of drafting standards and creating bill of materials

• Mechanical and structural design (3-5 years) in a manufacturing environment;

• Computer drawing software (3 years), SolidWorks preferred

• Experience in producing structural and mechanical manufacturing drawings;

• Projects qualification and experience will be an advantage;

• Quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into design

• Young Dynamic person that is up for a challenge, be keen to grow a career and learn a host of technical information

• Attention to detail is vital.

• The candidate must be medically fit in terms the Mine Health and Safety Act.

Duties and responsibilities (but not limited to the following):

• Prepare technical models and drawings for structures and mechanical equipment in CAD, both 2D and 3D

• Design of structures and mechanical equipment used in the mining industry

• Occasional travel to job sites to measure existing structures.

• Transform concepts into working designs

• Manage and co-ordinate contract draughtsman and structural engineer

• Manage and co-ordinate engineering projects when required;

The candidate must be medically fit in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Company’s standards for medical fitness.
