Driver X1 at Tshwane University of Technology

• The Department of Transport Services in the Directorate of Logistical Services seeks to appoint a Driver. This is a one year fixed-term contract based at Giyani Campus.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments. Applicants who previously applied are encouraged to reapply. Kindly note that these positions are open exclusively to Limpopo Province residents therefore, applicants primarily residing in the said Province will be given priority.

Key performance areas/Core functions:

• Transporting students for academic purposes
• Transporting employees for meeting, workshops and lecturing
• Pre-trip Vehicle inspections
• Report accidents to transport officer
• Record keeping of kilometers on log sheets
• Reporting of all minor and major damages to vehicles

Minimum Requirements:

• NQF level 1
• General Education and Training
• (Grade 9/ABET Level 4 National Certificate
• Relevant driver's license

Other special Requirements

• Driver's license EC
• Public Driver Permit (PDP

Experience:

• Two (2) years relevant experience in the specified area

Knowledge

• Current road traffic rules and regulations (NB: public driving requirements, Basic vehicl inspection and maintenance)

Skills

• Customer care
• Communication
• Basic mechanical knowledge to do “minor on the spot break down.
