    Driving Instructor ( Temp )

    About the Role

    • A Driving Instructor is responsible for providing individualized driving instruction to drivers in order to assess and validate their driver skills and behaviour.

    What You’ll be Doing

    • Conduct driving evaluations and training for drivers, both in classroom settings and on-the-road training.
    • Provide refresher training to drivers on the rules of the road, including traffic laws, road signs, and defensive driving techniques.
    • Provide instruction on vehicle operation and handling, including parallel parking, turning, merging, and braking.
    • Demonstrate proper driving techniques and safety procedures to drivers.
    • Assess drivers' driving skills and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
    • Develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to meet the specific needs and abilities of drivers.
    • Maintain accurate records of each driver's progress and attendance.
    • Monitor and enforce safety regulations and ensure that drivers understand and follow all traffic laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on changes in driving laws and regulations to effectively teach drivers and ensure compliance.

    What You will need for this position

    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and instructions to drivers.
    • Patience and the ability to remain calm and composed.
    • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations.
    • Exceptional observation skills to quickly identify and correct errors in driving techniques.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of drivers.
    • Excellent organizational skills to develop lesson plans and maintain accurate records.
    • Confidence in providing clear and concise instructions to drivers.
    • Strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges or difficulties.
    • Reliable and punctual to ensure that all scheduled lessons are conducted on time.

    Key Metrics

    • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Certification or licensure as a driving instructor, advantageous.
    • Knowledge of South African laws and regulations regarding driving instruction.
    • Prior experience as a driving instructor is preferred, but not always required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent education.
