    Economic & Excise Policy Specialist

    Economic & Excise Policy Specialist 

    As the world’s leading brewer, we at AB InBev family are always on the lookout for bold decision-makers, who are ready for responsibility and thirsty for innovation, to join our teams in Africa.  We are looking for Economic & Excise Policy Specialist to based in Johannesburg. Tech Supply is AB InBev’s global digital transformation program focused on our manufacturing facilities. The Tech Supply team is responsible for the exploration, development and implementation of technology to improve plant performance and ensure that our breweries are equipped for the future. 

    The key responsibilities of the Economic & Excise Policy Specialist (but not limited to):

    • Strong focus on economic analysis, statistical modelling ​and beer tax policy analysis
    • Track and maintain a detailed awareness of the key excise policy issues facing the business, and develop strategic responses as required
    • Develop and communicate the excise positions and integrate into risk management and stakeholder engagement process
    • Conduct research to support the development of submissions to relevant industry regulatory authorities​
    • Develop and manage socio-economic impact assessment studies of the beer value chain for the corporate affairs function
    • Develop and maintain sound and mutually beneficial relationships with relevant role players at all levels of government
    • Develop and maintain a robust depository and deep understanding of relevant and reliable data and communicate the value of available information to the relevant role players
    • Engage stakeholders including NGO’s, government, and organized business to build awareness and educate 

    The ideal candidate is someone who is holds a degree in economics/econometrics (post graduate advantageous)

    Miminum requirements include (but not limited to):

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience
    • Economic modelling experience essential
    • Experience working in and/or with a multinational (advantageous)
    • Experience in a highly regulated industry, data management and stakeholder Management
    • Strong technical skill and courage to defend positions views when challenged
